Go, Bruins!
I think it is so cool that Belmont is in the spotlight tonight.
After people ask where I graduated from college, I typically get these responses:
"Beaumont University?"
"Where in Texas is that?"
"Oh, I've never heard of that."
"Is that the little school down the street from Vanderbilt?"
When I enrolled as a Freshman there in the fall of 1997, there were a little over 3000 people there...total. That's only slightly larger than my high school. I loved going to a small university, though. You saw so many of the same people on your way to class, even if their major was different from yours.
I am so honored that I get to go back there this week (no, not for the debate) but to celebrate 10 years of knowing my Belmont Buddies and to take our annual Girls Trip back to where it all began. Watch for the symbolic bell tower in the footage they're showing leading up to the debate. That's where we're planning to take a picture when we go back this weekend!
Yea, Bruins!

Aww, I loved going to my small school too, and got similarly confused questioning when I told people I went to Mary Hardin Baylor. Oh you mean Baylor? In Waco? That's an all girls school right? :) Have fun with your girls!
Who knew you had a mascot?
